TÜV SÜD has appointed Timothée Baret as Head of its global Business Unit Energy Solutions & Projects within the company’s Industry & Infrastructure Division.
Based in Singapore, Baret will lead the international business unit as TÜV SÜD expands its services for energy, infrastructure and industrial investment projects worldwide.
The appointment comes as the testing, inspection and certification group continues to strengthen its work across conventional energy, renewable energy, nuclear power, transportation and large-scale industrial projects.
International experience across industrial sectors
Baret brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience from global corporations in the chemical industry.
During his career, he has held senior business management roles and led multinational, multifunctional teams in complex international environments. His experience spans oil and gas, fast-moving consumer goods, technologies and transportation.
He holds a BSc in Applied Physics from the University of Saint-Étienne, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines and an MBA in International Business Development and Strategy from EM Lyon Business School.

The appointment supports TÜV SÜD’s continued expansion of services for the energy and industrial project sectors.
Under the Industry & Infrastructure Division’s organisational structure, the Business Unit Energy Solutions & Projects includes four global business lines.
The Conventional Energy & Investment Project Services business line focuses on technical services for conventional energy facilities and industrial investment projects, including manufacturing plants and data centres. Its services cover planning, construction, commissioning and operations.
The Renewables & Energy Transformation business line supports companies moving toward more sustainable energy systems, providing technical expertise and assurance services for renewable energy and energy transformation projects.
The Nuclear Power & Decommissioning business line provides services across the lifecycle of nuclear facilities, including decommissioning.
The Amusement Rides & Transportation business line focuses on testing, inspection, certification and technical advisory services for amusement rides, leisure parks and specialised transportation systems.
