Foresight Canada has announced the 2026 Foresight 50 honourees, its annual list of what it considers Canada’s most promising, investment-ready cleantech companies. The organisation said the companies have collectively raised more than $3.2B in capital to date.
The sixth annual cohort was revealed at a celebration at The Permanent in Vancouver. The ventures work across heavy industry, energy, transport, agriculture, carbon management and advanced materials.
Foresight Canada describes itself as the country’s largest cleantech innovation and adoption accelerator. It works to reduce the risk and complexity of adopting clean technologies for public- and private-sector organisations. Climate Global News previously reported when applications opened for the 2026 Foresight 50 programme.
How the Foresight 50 honourees were selected
An independent panel of more than 35 climate investors chose this year’s companies. The panel included Jennifer Fuccillo, Investment Director at Invest Nova Scotia; Jinna Lee, Founding Partner at Endgame Capital; Mehran Salimian, VP of Banking at RBCx; and Simon Olivier, Senior Partner at Cycle Capital.
Ventures were assessed on investibility, leadership strength, economic and social impact, environmental performance and commercial viability.
Returning companies from across Canada
Several companies are returning to the list. They include Lite-1 from British Columbia, Ayrton Energy from Alberta, Carbon Lock Tech from Manitoba, TerraFixing from Ontario, Dispersa from Quebec and CarbonRun from Nova Scotia.
The geographic spread reflects the programme’s national scope. Foresight Canada said the cohort includes ventures that are reshaping traditional industries and supporting Canada’s economic competitiveness.
Decarbonisation and industrial competitiveness
Foresight Canada presents this year’s cohort as evidence that clean technology can drive productivity, resource efficiency and long-term economic resilience for Canadian business, not only environmental goals.
“Decarbonization and industrial competitiveness now walk hand-in-hand,” said Heather Crochetiere, Interim CEO of Foresight Canada. “The 2026 Foresight 50 honourees are proving that clean innovation is one of Canada’s greatest economic strengths, from coast to coast to coast. We have the talent, drive, and solutions, and now these companies need the capital to scale and contribute to Canada’s future.”
She added: “These companies are solving critical global climate challenges while building resilient supply chains, creating high-value domestic jobs, and delivering the high-performing technologies that traditional industries need to thrive in a more sustainable world.”
Connecting ventures with investors and buyers
The organisation said the list is intended to connect cleantech companies directly with global investors, corporate buyers and government partners. The aim is to speed up capital deployment and commercial adoption. The full list of honourees and a detailed venture pitchbook have been published on the official Foresight 50 honourees page.
Climate Global News has also covered Foresight Canada’s work through the Canadian Cleantech Awards finalists, which the organisation runs.
