Aviva Investors is inviting entries for its 2026 Sustainability Media Awards, recognising journalism that contributes to debate and understanding around sustainable investing and the transition to a more sustainable economy.
The awards, first launched in 2021, are open to journalists writing for national media, investment trade publications, newswires and specialist sustainability titles with a predominantly UK-based readership.
Entries must be submitted by Friday 21 August 2026 by emailing the completed submission form to avivainvestorsawards@cdrconsultancy.com.
Categories cover climate, nature and sustainable finance
The 2026 awards will recognise reporting published between July 2025 and July 2026. The categories span publications, individual journalists and specialist areas of sustainability coverage.
Award categories include Publication of the Year, Retail/Wholesale Publication of the Year, Institutional Publication of the Year, Private Markets Publication of the Year, Multimedia Publication of the Year, Journalist of the Year, Emerging Talent of the Year and Freelance Writer of the Year.
Specialist categories will also recognise reporting on climate, social and people-related issues, natural capital, and policy and regulation.
“You may only make one entry per category.”
Entrants are asked to provide supporting articles or multimedia examples, depending on the category entered. Most categories allow up to three supporting pieces, alongside a supporting summary of up to 300 words.
Focus on the future of investment
The awards are designed to highlight journalism exploring how sustainability, innovation, climate risk, social issues, regulation and economic transition are shaping investment markets.
For climate-focused entries, judges will consider reporting that shows how climate change is influencing investment selection, decision-making, engagement with companies, product development and corporate values.
The Natural Capital award will recognise journalism on topics such as biodiversity, land use, forestry, ecosystem services, nature-based solutions and the way nature-related risks and opportunities are shaping public and private markets.
The Policy & Regulation award will focus on reporting that explains sustainability policy, disclosure, stewardship, regulatory developments and the direction of sustainable finance.
“Please anonymise your supporting articles by removing all mentions of your name and publication.”
The Multimedia Publication of the Year category is an exception to the anonymisation requirement because of the nature of podcasts, video and other multimedia formats.
