Foresight 50 cleantech programme applications are now open for 2026, aiming to identify and support Canada’s most investment-ready clean technology ventures as the sector continues to expand its economic role.

The initiative, led by Foresight Canada, has become a recognised platform for connecting high-growth cleantech companies with investors and strategic partners. Since launching in 2021, companies featured in the programme have collectively raised more than $3.2 billion in capital.

The 2026 edition will again focus on ventures with strong commercial potential, environmental impact, and the ability to scale within global markets.

Foresight 50 cleantech programme reflects growing economic role of clean technology

The Foresight 50 cleantech programme comes as the sector continues to expand its contribution to Canada’s economy, with cleantech activity now representing a significant share of national GDP.

The programme aims to address a persistent challenge for emerging companies: access to capital and strategic support needed to move from innovation to large-scale deployment.

Selected ventures will gain access to investor networking opportunities, increased market visibility, and ongoing support through Foresight’s broader ecosystem of programmes and services.

David Sanguinetti, CEO of Foresight Canada, said the initiative is designed to connect innovation with the capital pathways required to scale technologies globally.

Investor-led selection process and national cleantech pipeline

The Foresight 50 cleantech programme is evaluated by an independent panel of investors from across the global cleantech ecosystem. Selection criteria include commercial viability, leadership strength, environmental impact, and potential for economic and job growth.

The programme spans a wide range of sectors, including energy, industrial decarbonisation, resource efficiency, and emerging clean technologies.

Previous honourees include companies working in carbon capture, materials innovation, and battery technologies, reflecting the diversity of Canada’s cleantech landscape.

Applications for the 2026 cohort are open until 30 June 2026, with selected companies to be announced at an event in Vancouver later in the year.
