The Octopus Fleet electrification brand has been launched as a single point of access for businesses transitioning their vehicle fleets to electric.
Developed by Octopus Energy, Octopus Fleet is positioned as an all-in-one service bringing together charging access, payment tools, tariffs and clean energy infrastructure for companies at different stages of electrification.
Octopus Fleet Electrification Brings Charging, Payments and Infrastructure Together
Charging is one component of the broader Octopus Fleet electrification offer. Through Electroverse, fleets can access Europe’s largest public charging network, covering more than 1.3 million charge points across over 50 countries.
In addition, businesses can use fleet charging cards and a Visa-powered business payments card to manage transport-related costs including charging, tolls and other operational expenses.
The proposition also includes EV charger installations, rooftop solar and battery systems, enabling fleets to integrate depot or workplace charging with onsite renewable generation.
Home Charging Reimbursement Integrated into Fleet Model
A central element of the Octopus Fleet electrification framework is a home charging reimbursement model designed for distributed fleets. Drivers using compatible home chargers can designate charging sessions as business or personal. The system automatically reimburses business charging costs through the driver’s energy account, consolidating usage into a single fleet invoice.
This structure aims to reduce administrative complexity while improving cost visibility across mixed charging environments.
Fleet Electrification and UK EV Growth
Fleet registrations continue to play a significant role in UK transport decarbonisation, accounting for nearly one in four new electric vehicle registrations in 2024.
Matt Davies, Director of Octopus Electroverse and Octopus Fleet, said businesses often face operational challenges when scaling electrification across public, home and depot charging systems.
The launch of Octopus Fleet reflects growing demand for integrated fleet services as businesses accelerate the shift to electric transport.
