Integrated approach to reliability and performance
Performance Plus™ is delivered through John Crane’s network of engineers operating across more than 200 facilities in 50 countries. The company states that the framework is intended to provide a structured, outcomes-focused approach built around measurable improvements in reliability and operational performance.
Alongside consultancy and training, the framework incorporates long-term Seal Reliability Management contracts, which offer proactive seal performance monitoring and support. This model aims to help operators maintain consistent performance and achieve more predictable maintenance cycles.
Digital condition monitoring forms a significant part of the framework. John Crane reports over one million hours of remote monitoring delivered through its diagnostics tools, including John Crane Sense® Turbo. These systems provide performance insights intended to support predictive maintenance and reduce the likelihood of equipment-related interruptions.
Supporting operational teams
The framework also includes training and upskilling programmes designed for in-house maintenance teams. The company notes that this element focuses on improving familiarity with equipment behaviour, maintenance decision-making and long-term safety and efficiency considerations.
Industry perspective
Philippe Lambert, Vice President, Commercial & Service at John Crane, commented that the company is shifting from supplying components to focusing on performance-based support across the equipment lifecycle. “We are evolving from a supplier of components to a strategic partner in performance. The focus is on measurable outcomes, increased uptime, safer operations and a lower emissions and total cost profile across the asset lifecycle,” he said.
Lambert added that the framework combines technology and human expertise, creating what the company describes as an integrated, customer-centred service approach.
