Kent, a global engineering and energy solutions company, has announced the rebrand of Sudlows Consulting to Kent Data Centres, marking the full integration of the data centre engineering specialist into the Kent group.

The rebrand signals Kent’s strategic expansion into the rapidly growing data centre sector, uniting two engineering leaders under one global brand to deliver smarter, more resilient, and sustainable digital infrastructure for the world’s evolving technology landscape.

Engineering the digital backbone

Since joining Kent earlier this year, Sudlows Consulting has become a cornerstone of Kent’s technology and power portfolio. With over 400 specialists, the team brings extensive experience in mission-critical design, technical advisory, and commissioning management for hyperscale, colocation, and edge facilities.

“This rebrand marks a pivotal step in Kent’s journey to shape the future of digital infrastructure,” said John Gilley, CEO of Kent. “Kent Data Centres represents the fusion of deep technical expertise and global delivery capability, enabling us to help clients build facilities that are powerful, efficient, and designed with sustainability at their core.”

Delivering global expertise for a connected future

John Rippingale, CEO of Kent Data Centres, added: “Joining the Kent family is the natural next step in our evolution. By combining our specialist data centre expertise with Kent’s global reach and multidisciplinary strength, we can offer clients a single, integrated source of certainty – from strategy and design through to commissioning and performance optimisation.”

As global data demand surges through the rise of AI, cloud services, and digital transformation, Kent Data Centres will focus on delivering sustainable, high-performance infrastructure. Supported by Kent’s 100-year engineering heritage and global network spanning over 30 countries, the new business will provide full lifecycle expertise – from concept and advisory to sustainability optimisation and long-term performance management.

Part of a global engineering group

With a workforce of over 13,000 people, Kent operates across the energy, chemicals, renewables, and low-carbon sectors. The addition of Kent Data Centres strengthens the company’s position in high-growth technology markets, aligning with its long-term ambition to design and deliver infrastructure for a connected, decarbonised world.
