Geely Auto UK is partnering with Octopus Electric Vehicles to accelerate its entry into the UK market, offering drivers an easy and affordable way to switch to electric. The collaboration gives Geely drivers access to Octopus’ complete ecosystem of electric vehicle services – from leasing and charging to home energy tariffs.

Through Octopus Electric Vehicles’ leasing packages, customers can drive the all-electric Geely EX5 – a spacious family SUV offering up to 267 miles of range on a single charge. Octopus’ salary sacrifice scheme enables drivers to save up to 40 per cent on the cost of EV ownership compared with traditional financing, with insurance, servicing and charging all included.

Making electric driving simple

Geely customers will have access to Intelligent Octopus Go, the UK’s most popular EV tariff. The smart plan automatically charges vehicles when renewable energy generation is high and prices are lowest, saving drivers around £450 a year compared with a standard tariff – or more than £700 compared with petrol.

When travelling, drivers can use Octopus Electroverse – a one-tap app that provides access to more than a million public chargers across 40 countries.

Driving toward an all-electric future

The partnership coincides with Geely’s UK debut of the all-electric EX5, which combines ultra-fast charging (30–80 per cent in around 20 minutes) with comfort-focused features such as heated and ventilated massage seats. Over the longer term, Geely and Octopus plan to explore ways of integrating Geely’s EV technologies with Octopus’ renewable energy services.

Oliver Boots, Chief Commercial Officer at Octopus Electric Vehicles, said: “Switching to electric should feel exciting, not complicated. By combining Geely’s fresh take on EVs with our smart charging tech, home installs and flexible tariffs, we’re making the move to electric driving simple and affordable. We’re buzzing to be powering up with Geely as they hit the ground running in the UK.”

Michael Yang, General Manager of Geely Auto UK, added: “With Octopus being one of the largest renewable energy suppliers in the UK, our partnership demonstrates that we are not just coming to sell and service cars. By signing this agreement, both Geely Auto UK and Octopus are committing to deliver better, more complete solutions for new energy vehicle ownership and use.”

As Geely prepares for its UK launch, the collaboration with Octopus Electric Vehicles promises British drivers an easier and more sustainable way to move into electric mobility.
