Corrosion impact on infrastructure and sustainability is being highlighted by global organisations ahead of World Corrosion Awareness Day 2026, with calls for greater focus on prevention and long-term asset protection.

The initiative is led by the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), in collaboration with the World Corrosion Organization, the European Federation of Corrosion, and the International Corrosion Council.

World Corrosion Awareness Day, observed annually on April 24, aims to raise awareness of how corrosion affects critical systems, including transportation networks, water infrastructure, energy production and manufacturing.
