Matrix Renewables FT1000 ranking recognition has highlighted the rapid expansion of renewable energy developers as investment in clean power infrastructure continues to accelerate across Europe.

Matrix Renewables, a renewable energy platform with projects across solar power, battery storage and green hydrogen, has been included in the Financial Times FT1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.

The annual ranking, compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with data provider Statista, measures company growth using compound annual growth rates over a three-year period.

Matrix Renewables FT1000 ranking reflects renewable energy sector growth

The Matrix Renewables FT1000 ranking reflects broader growth across the renewable energy sector as governments and investors expand clean energy infrastructure to support climate targets.

The company’s portfolio includes large-scale solar projects, battery energy storage systems and green hydrogen initiatives designed to support electricity system decarbonisation.

Matrix Renewables is backed by the impact investing platform of global asset manager TPG.

Luis Sabaté, CEO of Matrix Renewables, said the ranking reflects the company’s recent growth.

“Being named in the FT1000 ranking is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of our team,” Sabaté said.

Battery storage and international expansion

The company’s recent expansion includes a battery storage project in the United Kingdom, where Matrix Renewables signed an engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Tesla to develop a 500 MW battery energy storage system.

The project will provide around two hours of storage capacity, equivalent to approximately 1 GWh, supporting grid stability as renewable electricity generation increases.

In Spain, the company is also advancing both standalone and collocated battery storage projects alongside solar developments.

Matrix Renewables continues to expand its activities across multiple international markets, including Spain, Italy, the United States and the United Kingdom.
