Kraken has been named the top-ranked digital platform for customer care and engagement in the energy utilities sector, according to the Frost Radar™ 2025 from Frost & Sullivan. The report identifies Kraken as both the fastest-growing and highest-performing platform among global peers.

The Frost Radar™ benchmarks companies on innovation and growth, spotlighting those best positioned to capture future opportunities. Kraken’s cloud-native, AI-driven platform was recognised for transforming customer operations, cutting the cost to serve by more than 40 per cent and achieving major gains in customer satisfaction.

“Kraken retains the top spot on the Frost Radar™ and is arguably the one to beat right now. Its growth in the past few years has been nothing short of exceptional, with more and more utilities from across the US, Europe and Australia opting for the Kraken operating system. Kraken is one of the leading companies on innovation and the developments in its utility-grade AI, flexibility management, C&I and field operations offerings are all testament to this.”

Recognition for AI innovation

The award follows Kraken’s recent inclusion in TIME’s Best Inventions 2025 for its residential flexibility platform – the world’s largest virtual power plant of home energy assets. The system’s AI-powered software reacts to grid conditions in real time, shifting usage to periods when energy is cheaper and more abundant. This approach has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in savings and supports a more resilient energy grid.

The Frost Radar™ also highlighted Kraken’s Utility-Grade AI capabilities, including its Magic Ink generative AI system, which manages over 60 per cent of outbound customer communications. The company’s ability to deliver complex customer migrations on time and within budget – covering millions of accounts for major suppliers such as E.ON, EDF and Shell Energy – was also cited as a key differentiator.

Global growth

Kraken currently manages more than 70 million customer accounts across over 20 countries and aims to reach 100 million by 2027. Frost & Sullivan described the company as “arguably the one to beat right now”, recognising its sustained innovation and global momentum.
