Octopus Energy has confirmed that it will pass on savings resulting from the UK Government’s Autumn Budget 2025 energy policy changes directly to customers, with reduced tariffs taking effect from 1 April 2026.
The supplier stated that all existing and new fixed and variable tariffs will be adjusted automatically to reflect the removal of certain policy-related costs from energy bills. Customers will not be required to take any action for the changes to be applied.
According to estimates outlined alongside the Budget, the policy changes are expected to reduce a typical annual household energy bill by approximately £134 compared with projected costs prior to the measures.
Octopus Energy indicated that the adjustments will be applied across its full customer base once the changes come into force. The company said the approach is intended to ensure transparency and consistency for households as energy pricing structures are updated.
Commenting on the announcement, Greg Jackson, CEO and Founder of Octopus Energy, said the company welcomed the government’s decision to amend policy costs within energy bills.
“These changes will bring relief to customers, and we’ll pass them through on all of our tariffs as soon as they take effect,” Jackson said.
The announcement comes as energy suppliers prepare for further regulatory and pricing adjustments in 2026, amid ongoing scrutiny of how policy costs are reflected in household energy bills.
