  • Easee and ScottishPower have launched a bundled EV charging offer aimed at reducing home charging costs.

  • Customers installing an Easee One charger through ScottishPower can access smart charging at 6p per kWh for 12 months.

  • The companies say this could reduce annual home charging costs by up to 78% compared with typical electricity prices.

  • The offer encourages charging during periods when electricity is cheapest and grid demand is lowest.

  • Partnerships between energy suppliers and charging technology providers are becoming increasingly common as EV adoption grows.

Smart EV charging tariffs are becoming an increasingly important part of the electric vehicle ecosystem as energy companies and charging technology providers look for ways to reduce the cost of home charging.

Charging technology company Easee and energy supplier ScottishPower have announced a bundled home charging offer designed to lower electricity costs for electric vehicle drivers.

Under the promotion, customers who install an Easee One home charger through ScottishPower can access the company’s EV Optimise smart charging add-on at 6p per kWh for 12 months, subject to eligibility requirements.

According to the companies, a driver charging a 60 kWh electric vehicle from 20% to 80% once a week could reduce annual charging costs significantly compared with typical electricity prices under the current energy price cap.

Smart EV charging tariffs and the future of home charging

The expansion of smart EV charging tariffs reflects a wider shift toward integrating electric vehicles more closely with electricity systems.

Smart charging systems allow vehicles to charge automatically during periods when electricity prices are lower and grid demand is reduced. This approach can help drivers reduce energy costs while also supporting grid stability.

Sam Levy, Regional Sales Director for the UK and Ireland at Easee, said the collaboration aims to simplify charging for EV drivers.

“By combining Easee One with access to a smarter, lower-cost charging offer, we’re helping customers reduce charging
