Climate Global News

The launch of Climate Global News (CGN) comes after the successful launch of H2O Global News in 2021. With a passion for providing news from people and companies that are changing the world in water and wastewater, we have set our eyes on the vast subject of our world and the changing climate. How do we adapt, and where possible, where can we undo?

Our goal of CGN is to highlight the interconnectivity of industries working tirelessly to undo the damage and help adapt to the climate.

We will tackle difficult subjects and shine the light on those who are champions of this ever-growing challenge.

Investors, policymakers, disruptive innovators and top brands from across the globe join us in this exciting journey of bringing together the key sectors, sharing stories and innovations in partnership for the world’s sustainability goals.

“From transformative action and resilience & adaption, let’s work together to tackle one of the greatest threats to mankind.”

Industries covered

Agriculture News

Agriculture is the leading industry in greenhouse gas emissions due to livestock emissions, animal waste, and fertilisers. Temperature shifts, altered rainfall patterns, and more prolonged droughts – all of which are having an impact on farming business and global food security.

Circular Economy News

A circular economy is essential for fighting climate change. Material extraction and use currently account for 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Only 7.2% is recycled back! We look at “hot spots” of unsustainable consumption and production in high-impact sectors such as industry, buildings and construction, and agriculture.

Earth & Nature News

Terrestrial and marine ecosystems are essential in regulating climate, absorbing roughly half of man-made emissions. Biodiversity and ecosystem services help us to adapt to and mitigate climate change. The environment is suffering: glaciers and ice sheets are shrinking, plant and animal geographic ranges are shifting, and plants and trees are blooming sooner.

Energy News

The energy supply sector accounts for 35% of global emissions, generating electricity and heat by burning fossil fuels – coal, oil, or gas. We look at future energy security with clean energy sources such as wind, solar, hydropower and other exciting innovations.

Health & Science News

Climate change is the most significant health threat facing humanity and health professionals worldwide. Climate change already impacts health in many ways, including death and illness from increasingly frequent extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, storms and floods, the disruption of food systems, water and vector-borne diseases.

Tech & Innovation News

Technology is fast becoming the most critical industry in this conversation, from predictive technology and artificial intelligence forecasting events that can save lives to IoT for water management. Technology is the most interconnected industry of all.

Transport News

It’s estimated that transport contributes 23% of the GHG. Governments are setting targets to reduce this with the widespread agreement to reduce CO2 emissions from transport by a minimum of 50% at the latest by 2050. To tackle this subject, we look at sustainable, innovative transport technologies and biofuels.

Water & Ocean News

The ocean has long taken the brunt of the impacts of global warming. More frequent marine heatwaves, ocean acidification, a rise in sea levels, sea ice decline and much more. Water scarcity due to extreme global weather. Water also takes a lot of energy, time, and money to filter and clean so that it’s drinkable.
